SolarHomeCompare is an independent comparison resource for US homeowners researching residential solar.
We exist because the solar buying process is broken. Homeowners are bombarded with door-to-door sales pitches, inflated promises, and quotes that vary by $10,000 for the same system. Most existing comparison sites push you toward whichever installer pays them the most.
We do this differently.
What we do
- Publish data-driven, state-by-state guides covering current solar incentives, average installer costs, tax credits, utility rebates, and solar buyback plans
- Recommend solar backup power products (like Jackery solar generators) that you can order direct, without going through an installer
- Offer an optional, free, no-obligation quote form for homeowners who want rooftop installation bids
- Update our content as policies change, so you do not rely on outdated information
How we choose what to recommend
We do not rank products based on what they pay us. Our backup power recommendations are based on:
- Real capacity and output specs (watt-hours, surge wattage, expandability)
- Battery chemistry and safety (LiFePO4, indoor-safe operation)
- Fit for each state’s actual outage risks — hurricanes, wildfire shutoffs, ice storms, heat waves
- Price relative to comparable products

SolarHomeCompare is owned and operated by Insure Safely Group LLC, a Florida-registered LLC focused on independent consumer comparison resources. Our editorial team has backgrounds in consumer research, content publishing, and lead-generation operations. We are not an installer, lender, or insurance company.
