SolarHomeCompare is an independent comparison resource for US homeowners researching residential solar.

We exist because the solar buying process is broken. Homeowners are bombarded with door-to-door sales pitches, inflated promises, and quotes that vary by $10,000 for the same system. Most existing comparison sites push you toward whichever installer pays them the most.

We do this differently.

What we do

• Publish data-driven, state-by-state guides covering current solar incentives, average installer costs, tax credits, utility rebates, and solar buyback plans
• Match homeowners with vetted local installers via a free, no-obligation quote form
• Update our content as policies change, so you do not rely on outdated information

How we choose installers

We do not rank installers based on what they pay us. We only match you with installers who meet all of the following:

• Active licensing and insurance in your state
• NABCEP certification or equivalent industry credentials
• At least 5 years in business
• Strong independent reviews on Google, BBB, and reputable solar review platforms
• Active service in your specific ZIP code

Our editorial team has backgrounds in consumer research, content publishing, and lead-generation operations. We are not an installer, lender, or insurance company.
